1. ABOUT THIS NOTICE
This Cookie Notice explains how The Computer Specialists, LLC, doing business through The CampBoard, uses cookies and similar browser technologies on TheCampBoard.com.
Cookies are small text files stored by a browser. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, tags, and software that reads or writes information on a device.
This Notice should be read with The CampBoard Privacy Policy.
2. STRICTLY NECESSARY TECHNOLOGIES
The CampBoard uses technologies that are necessary to provide and secure the website. These technologies cannot be disabled through The CampBoard Cookie Settings because the website may not function properly without them.
Session cookie. Django may use a cookie commonly named sessionid to maintain an authenticated session, preserve security state, and provide account functionality. Its duration depends on the session and account configuration.
CSRF protection cookie. Django may use a cookie commonly named csrftoken to protect forms and accounts against cross-site request forgery. Its duration depends on browser and application settings.
Security and infrastructure information. Our servers, reverse proxy, hosting provider, and security components process request and security information needed to deliver and protect the service. These operations do not depend on optional advertising consent.
Privacy preference storage. The CampBoard stores the visitor's Cookie Settings choice in the browser's local storage. This record is necessary to remember whether optional advertising technology was accepted or rejected. The intended storage key is campboard_cookie_consent_v1.
If local storage or cookies are cleared, or a different browser or device is used, The CampBoard may need to ask for the visitor's choice again.
3. COOKIE-FREE FIRST-PARTY MEASUREMENT
The CampBoard maintains limited aggregate daily website and service counters. These measurements include selected activities such as homepage views, signup page views, signup starts, checkout redirects, guest page views, QR code views, map views, and guest alert subscription activity.
This first-party aggregate measurement does not require advertising cookies and is not designed to identify visitors or build individual browsing histories. It may classify a campaign source supplied in a URL, an external referring hostname, and a fixed landing-page label.
4. STRIPE PAYMENT TECHNOLOGIES
The CampBoard uses Stripe for subscription checkout, payment processing, billing management, and related fraud prevention.
When a user follows a link to a Stripe-hosted page, Stripe may set or use cookies and similar technologies under Stripe's own privacy and cookie practices. The CampBoard Cookie Settings cannot directly remove or control cookies stored by Stripe on Stripe's domains.
5. OPTIONAL META ADVERTISING TECHNOLOGY
The CampBoard may use the Meta Pixel on designated public marketing pages to measure advertising performance and understand whether an advertisement contributed to actions such as a page view, signup, or completed registration.
The Meta Pixel is optional. The CampBoard is designed not to download or initialize the Meta Pixel until a visitor affirmatively selects the option to accept advertising cookies.
If accepted, the Meta Pixel may cause information to be sent to Meta Platforms, Inc., including:
The page visited and its URL.
The referring page or advertising link.
The time of the event.
Browser, device, and network information.
The visitor's Internet Protocol address as part of the network request.
Meta cookie or click identifiers.
Selected events such as PageView or CompleteRegistration.
Meta may set, read, or use advertising cookies and identifiers, including cookies commonly named _fbp and _fbc. The exact cookies, identifiers, and their duration may vary based on Meta's technology, the visitor's browser, region, account status, and interaction with Meta services.
Meta processes information under its own Business Tools Terms, Privacy Policy, and Cookies Policy. Meta may combine information received through its business tools with information it receives from Facebook, Instagram, or other sources as described in its policies.
The CampBoard does not intentionally configure the Meta Pixel to receive passwords, payment card numbers, guest alert email addresses, campground customer content, or other information that The CampBoard considers sensitive.
The CampBoard does not use a Meta Pixel noscript image fallback because that fallback could transmit a PageView when JavaScript consent controls are unavailable.
6. COOKIE SETTINGS
The Cookie Settings control provides the following choices:
Accept advertising. This permits optional advertising technology such as the Meta Pixel to load on approved public marketing pages.
Reject optional. This prevents optional advertising technology from loading. Strictly necessary technology and cookie-free first-party aggregate measurement continue to operate.
The choices are intended to be presented with equal prominence. Rejecting optional advertising does not prevent a visitor from using the core website, reviewing pricing, contacting The CampBoard, or beginning signup.
A choice applies to the browser and device where it was made. The user may make a different choice on another browser or device.
7. CHANGING OR WITHDRAWING A CHOICE
A visitor may reopen Cookie Settings from the website footer or privacy control and change the advertising choice at any time.
When permission is withdrawn, The CampBoard is designed to:
Tell an already loaded Meta Pixel that advertising consent has been revoked.
Prevent optional Meta code from loading on later pages.
Remove first-party-accessible _fbp and _fbc cookies for The CampBoard domains where technically possible.
Reload the current page so the new choice is applied consistently.
The CampBoard cannot directly delete cookies stored on Meta's own domains or control information Meta processed before permission was withdrawn. Visitors may also use Meta's own privacy and advertising controls.
8. GLOBAL PRIVACY CONTROL
Where supported by The CampBoard's consent controls, a recognized Global Privacy Control signal is treated as a request to reject optional advertising technology for that browser.
A visitor may still open Cookie Settings to review the current choice. Browser signals and legal rights can vary by jurisdiction and browser implementation.
9. BROWSER CONTROLS
Most browsers allow users to view, block, or delete cookies and site data. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent login, form submission, security protection, or other website functions from working correctly.
Private browsing, content blockers, browser privacy protection, and network filtering may also limit cookies or pixels. These tools are controlled by the visitor or the applicable provider rather than The CampBoard.
10. THIRD-PARTY LINKS
The CampBoard may link to campground websites, mapping services, social media, Stripe, and other third-party services. Cookies used after following those links are governed by the third party's policies.
11. CHANGES TO THIS NOTICE
We may update this Cookie Notice when our technology, providers, legal obligations, or practices change. The current version and effective date will be displayed on the Cookie Notice page.
If we introduce a new optional advertising or tracking provider, we will update the Notice and consent controls as appropriate before intentionally activating that provider.
